ABOUT US

History of the Montcalm

Built in 1787, The Montcalm was originally a graceful Georgian period residence on a quiet crescent in Central London. Approximately two centuries later in 1973, the building opened as a hotel and took its name from the French General the Marquis de Montcalm, who commanded the siege of Quebec in the 18th Century. Japan Airlines Development Company purchased The Montcalm in 1985 to become one of the properties in the Nikko Hotels International chain and has since enjoyed a deluxe status by providing a very high standard of service and accommodation.

Whilst secluded, The Montcalm is just minutes away from Marble Arch, Hyde Park and the shopping areas of Mayfair and Oxford Street.

All of the 120 guest rooms have en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, colour television, high speed internet access, mini-bar, trouser presses and in-house video films. Included in this total features 3 luxury penthouse suites and a number of highly distinctive duplex suites with spiral staircases and large Georgian windows overlooking the tree-lined Crescent.

Amongst the facilities provided to our guests are 24-hour room service, the cocktail bar which offers an ideal setting for relaxation, the Crescent Restaurant with the best in haute cuisine and banqueting and conference facilities.

Our small private car park is also available for hire, please contact our Concierge for more details. Valet parking is also available.
